Santa Rosa Beach, FL —February 3, 2026 — The Paper Bear, a feature-length film and conservation initiative by The Paper Bear nonprofit, has secured international distribution with MultiVisionnaire Pictures, a global media rights management, film sales, and distribution company headquartered in Los Angeles.
Through this partnership, MultiVisionnaire Pictures will introduce the film to buyers across major international markets, including the Cannes Marché du Film, the Berlinale European Film Market, the American Film Market, Filmart, MIPCOM, Busan ACFM, and additional high-profile industry platforms.
The film will make its international debut at the Berlinale European Film Market with a market screening on February 13 at the Gropius Bau, the market's flagship venue.
“We are thrilled to launch The Paper Bear in our very first international market of the year. With not only film buyers from over the world attending, there are also hundreds of festival programmers shopping for films for their 2026 festival lineups. The film’s themes of connecting nature and family heritage make it well-positioned to resonate with audiences globally and across cultures.” said Erika Kao-Haley, Managing Partner of MultiVisionnaire Pictures. “Fun fact: Berlinale’s logo is a bear. Berlinale and the bear are synonymous, as the bear is the heraldic symbol of Berlin, which is also a wonderful coincidence.”
MultiVisionnaire Pictures has introduced audiences to smart independent films since 2006. With a catalog of more than 300 feature films and series distributed across all media, the company is known for its strong relationships with producers, distributors, and broadcasters, as well as its expertise in international sales, content aggregation, and digital distribution.
Following a successful festival run and a Jackson Wild Media Awards finalist nomination in the trailblazer category, the international distribution agreement marks a major milestone for the film. The film is currently expanding to domestic audiences while positioning itself for broader global visibility through the international film festival circuit ahead of its North American streaming debut.
“We are excited to bring this film about a very special place in Florida to audiences around the world. This moment has been a long time coming and reflects years of dedication and behind-the-scenes work from our entire team,” said Arix Zalace, the film’s director. “Walton County is truly unique, but at its heart, this story is about our connection to nature, family heritage, and the places that shape us. These themes are relatable no matter where you live.”
